Old Suttonian Association

Genealogy Service

This is a service provided by an Old Suttonian and Committee member, Mr. Tom Jewell.

Tom, who lives in Exeter, enjoys spending his time researching family lines, using various sources, including the West Devon Record Office in Plymouth and the main Devon Record Office in Exeter. His information sources have recently been enhanced by the arrival of the 1881 census on CD-ROM; 8 containing the alpha index and a further 16 containing the enumeration details. Tom can also access the 1851 Devon census on CD-ROM.

If you would like Tom to investigate your Devon roots, jot down a little chart with names, places and dates and he will do his best to push the line back as far as possible. He may have to purchase certificates at cost (currently UKP 6.50), but explores other sources to minimise the expense.

The cost for this service is UKP 10.00 (up front). Please make cheques payable to "Old Suttonian Association"

If you would like to try out this service, please give him a call on Exeter (01392) 213144.

Please note: this service is only available to Old Suttonians. Please mention your years at Sutton when applying.
